How Alexis, Cameron, and your membership work

Alexis (📚 on lesson pages)

Alexis is your lesson tutor. She explains what you are reading, in plain language, for the lesson you have open.

• Each successful answer from Alexis uses 1 of your 30 included questions each calendar month.
• After 30, extra questions are billed at cost (we will tell you on the site when that happens).
• Asking the same words again still counts again — otherwise one sentence could eat the whole month for everyone else.
• On the Home page, the Librarian helps you find a course. That navigation help does not use your 30.

Cameron (inside Lab Work only)

Cameron is free, as much as you like, but only inside the Lab Work section at the bottom of a lesson that includes a lab.

• No lab on this lesson? Cameron is not on the page — the lesson text walks you through the work.
• Lab chat does not subtract from your 30 Alexis questions.

Reading style (Accessible · Standard · Advanced)

Same facts — different density of language. Switch anytime on any lesson or set your default on Account.

• All three styles are free. We will not charge your 30 Alexis questions for reading up or down.
• If a lesson feels too hard, try Accessible. If you want more depth, try Advanced.
• The first time you open a style on a lesson, the page may take a moment while we prepare it — still free.

You can change your default on Account; any lesson page can override for that lesson.

Quizzes and tests

Assessments are just you — no Alexis, no Cameron, no AI. That keeps your results meaningful to you and to employers. You have prepared for this.
